Baloo is not a holy cow. He’s a grass munching maniac. He loves the good things in life. Chew. Moo. Munch. Repeat. He also loves ‘music’. Elvis. Press play. Repeat! But it wasn’t always rock and roll for Baloo. He was a thin malnourished calf when he was rescued from an informal settlement along Route 62. A byproduct of the dairy industry, male calves are considered to be valueless because they will never produce milk. Today, Baloo is a cow high on life – and grass. Baloo will always be cherished as the first cow to come to Farm Sanctuary SA, and we love him as much as he loves calling the green green grass of Farm Sanctuary SA ‘home’.
